Maternity leave can be a very isolated experience. The OBGYN only actively looks after you until the baby is delivered. Friends and family visit and bring food for the first few weeks after your delivery…then life goes back to normal for them; most of them are also at work during the day. Your partner is on paternity leave for a week and then he goes back to work.
And then all that remains are you and your baby and your (…potentially mind-numbing) routine of feeding, burping, changing nappies and putting your baby to sleep.
Join us for a weekly new-mom support group.
New-mom support group
What you get:
- You get the opportunity to get out of the house and meet with other moms in the same stage of life as you.
- The group setting provides you with a space where the OT will check in on how you are doing.
- You are provided with a space to ask burning questions that only fellow moms can understand.
- Each week the OT will teach you a new developmental stimulation activity that you can do with your baby. You also get to practice it during the session.
Rates:
- If you pay up front for 3 sessions, you get the 4th session free.
- Sessions can be claimed back from medical aid, if you have funding available.
